Lisa Olivia Munn was conceived in Oklahoma City. Kimberly Schmid lived in Vietnam and has Chinese origins, and Winston Barrett Munn's clan has origins deep within the American South. The couple divorced when Olivia was just two years old and she was raised by her stepfather and mother, an active member of the United States Air Force. They left Oklahoma and moved to several places, but she lived the majority of her childhood in Tokyo. At the time, she participated in various local theater productions. Later she became an Japanese model. Olivia has moved with her family to Los Angeles in order to achieve her dream of becoming an actress and continued working towards this goal when the family returned to America.
